1. jump through hoops

hoop是一種用木頭、金屬或塑料制成的環，jump through hoops形容的是“克服種種障礙、飽受折磨”。

We had to jump through hoops to get my Dad admitted to hospital.
我們必須克服種種障礙才讓醫院收下我父親。

2. give sb a piece of your mind

米奇爾他們去動物中心領養小貓，卻被告知不合條件，不能領養，卡梅隆很生氣。

give sb a piece of your mind感覺就是給誰點顏色看看，翻譯為“嚴厲責備，斥責（某人）”。

斥責一般有這幾種表達：

①rebuke

I was rebuked by my manager for being late.
我因為遲到而遭到經理的訓斥。

②reprimand

She was reprimanded by her teacher for biting another girl.
她因為咬了另一個女孩而受到了老師的訓斥。

③revile

What right had the crowd to revile the players for something they could not help?
觀眾有什么權力因為隊員們無能為力的事情而謾罵他們？

3. in store

in store不是儲藏的意思嘛，有句話叫未雨綢繆，囤東西就是要為以后做準備唄。

所以in store也有“即將發生”的意思哦：

You never know what's in store for you.
你永遠不會知道等待你的是什么。
